About Tarot Cards
An imprisoned person, with no other book than the Tarot, if he knew how to use it, could acquire a universal knowledge that would enable him to speak on any subject with unstoppable wisdom and irresistible eloquence.
- Eliphas Levi -
Tarot cards are often associated with magic and banal esotericism based on superstitions. This is because of the speculation that has been made around their use.
Tarot cards are indeed a game. But the nature of this game has nothing magical, mysterious, irrational, or out of touch with reality. They represent the realm of the possible, of all that can happen and not happen.
Tarot cards represent a practical and precise visualization of the reality of the human being and of the universal structures that are the archetypes of humanity.
The Major Arcana are the universal archetypes and describe the feelings and connections of human life to the Universe. The Tarot contains concepts of philosophy, theology, and psychology because they are close to mysticism, metaphysics, and the cognitive processes of the human mind. The Knowledge of Tarot cards starts with oneself.
The Major Arcana are a journey, the journey of the Madman, of the child discovering the world. Each card has a meaning of this stage of learning and is connected to other cards that represent the existential journey of the human being in relation to himself and the Universe. Therefore, Tarot cards prove to be a precious tool for serious and introspective help, since they almost immediately start the intuitive and discursive dialogue on the nature of your feelings and your deepest thoughts, but at the same time, reveal doubts and anxieties and guide you towards possible choices.
Tarot cards do not foresee a distant future, but are a tool for talking about the present, the here and now, about one's uncertainties or anxieties related to present and upcoming events, but also with more distant roots such as memories and unresolved issues.
